This is a book that will keep me thinking about it for a long long time.

Through the pages, we go on a journey with Devon and Chiamaka the MCs of the story. We see how they grow with each obstacle, they are not the typical perfect MC but they have been wronged in many ways, plotted against, deceived, and betrayed. I may have not liked them that much in the beginning but now I cherish them.
Devon's character felt more relatable to me from the start, so I am more biased toward him.

The book is written in a way that shows us how the MCs first viewed everything around them and themselves, they had a lot of insecurity and tried to be something they are not, which is something we can relate to I guess.

The book made me feel similar to how I felt when I read the hate you give a few years ago. Again, I find myself angry and ugly crying for the injustice they face, and feel how similar I feel sometimes in life to these characters but with a different type of discrimination.
Every kid should read this book even if just to have an idea of how racist people act and think and what defines them and how their victims feel.

Emotional, kept me on edge, phenomenal. Unforgettable.
Highly recommended.
