I skimmed a lot of this book because it was repetitive but I finished it for a book club. I was honestly turned off right from the beginning by his methodology. Stopping all your successful habits for a month then restarting them is not really scientifically valid test of the new method. A lot of this felt like mental framing and wordplay. The vertical and lateral flexibility is a genuinely interesting idea but so much of the motivation discussion is tied up in the idea of doing something daily that it was hard to see how this would work for me.
