The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh

5.0

I don't know what it is about Martin McDonagh, but I find his films to be both touching and hilarious, so I was eager to check out his plays. And man, this one is good!

A tough-as-nails Irish terrorist discovers his best friend -his cat- has been killed. Those who were tasked with watching said cat try desperately to cover up the death, and high jinks ensue.

Laugh out loud funny throughout, but it's also filled with emotion. I loved all the characters, and I'm a big cat guy, so this is just right up my alley.
