A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

5.0

I can see why this book was such a comfort to so many soldiers during WWII. There is something comforting about it and something so beautiful. It is hard to identify, especially among all the difficult things little Francie goes through. I couldn't help but enjoy her journey with her. I love her as much as I have loved anyone. She is beautiful. I know there isn't exactly a plot, but everything that happened was put together so well, and it reflects true life. I hope my children read this book some day and get as much out of it as I did.
