As Simple as It Seems by Sarah Weeks

4.0

A simple tale of friendship told by a girl whose life feels out of her control, so she decides that she wants to be somebody else. When a neighbor boy thinks she is the ghost of a girl who died a few years earlier, Verbena is given just that opportunity. We that Verbena's heart is good, but all her emotions swirling around cause her to make some poor choices and say some things she doesn't mean. Her mother loves her so much, but can be a bit smothering without realizing it, which causes Verbena to push her away. Probably a good book to read for girls going through those rough years of growing up and their parents.
