Dune by Frank Herbert

5.0

This is another book where there's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Herbert crafts a wonderful, linear story for the first half and then quickly descends into a spice-laden fever dream where time jumps at will with no explanation. The latter half can be challenging for that reason as it becomes difficult to understand just how much time has passed and where the characters are. However, I think it mirrors Paul's journey and for that reason is warranted.

It's a damned fine science fiction book and I'm excited to see how the movie tackles the story's second half.
