The Sleeping Car Porter by Suzette Mayr

Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
Honestly, I probably wouldn't have even tried this book if I'd realised that it was by the author of Monoceros, but I'd already started it when the name pinged, and I decided to give her another try. Maybe she'd gotten over that phase some authors and most toddlers have where they continually yell "poop!" just because they can. And this was about a gay sleeping car porter, so I thought it was worth a go.

Nope, still the same author with a visceral hatred of having a body, and detailed descriptions of why people generally, and fat people specifically, are super gross. She made the main character an aspiring dentist so he can describe how everyone's teeth are gross in technical terms.

I charge thee yeet they fast oute of my syghte.
