Send No Flowers by Sandra Brown

4.0

This was a quick and satisfying read. Yes, it was fairly predictable. I guessed Pierce's secret right off the bat. Yes it was a bit dated, Alicia could have been more independent. The boys were very realistic, mischievous little boys who get into everything. The relationship between Pierce and his daughter was nice to watch as it developed, even though issues seemed resolved rather quickly. All of this gets the book a three star rating. The fourth star comes from the relationship between Pierce and Alicia. While they seemed to have an immediate attraction (gotta love electricity!) the relationship seemed to grow as we discovered the characters. Both had doubts going in, and both saw huge hurdles in their way. Neither could fight the feelings though - true attraction! You could almost feel it. That is exactly why I pick up a romance - thank you Sandra Brown for taking me away for a few hours today!
