A Dream of Ice by Gillian Anderson

The first book in this series was basically a very decent detective novel, with a great main character. My problem with this second book is that it has gone from a detective novel with some sci-fi aspects into a full on sci-fi story with very little to ground it.
What I like most about this series is the main character Caitlin. Her “normal” scenes with her son or Ben are great. Sadly, a large chunk of this book revolves around other characters who just didn’t interest me or around the Galderkhaan history, which just didn’t grab me.
I listened to the audio book for this one and I do have to say Gillian Anderson is a wonderful narrator.
2.5 out of 5 stars for me. I’m rounding it down to 2.
