TRY ANYWAY - Raina Telgemeier⠀
⠀
⠀
This is a surprisingly deep mid-grade read that explores friendship, mental illness, puberty, and fear in an honest way that was refreshing and thoughtful. I adore the illustrations and how they clearly portray the emotions Raina goes through in the story. The characters are warm and authentic. I was rooting for them as they developed through the story to a satisfying end. ⠀
⠀
I would highly recommend this book to parents and tweens. It can open up a door for constructive conversations about mental health and therapy.⠀
