The Lost World: The Junior Novelization by Gail Herman

3.0

This book has a very different feel than the first. The animals aren’t quite as smart, Ian explains why, and it’s a whole bother island. Dodgson is back and more evil than I originally thought he was. I mean, wow. The new group consists of Ian Malcom, Sarah Harding, Dr. Levine, Dr. Thorne, Eddie, and two kids Arby and Kelly. All extremely smart in their own ways. Levine is an ignorant and stupid guy who annoys me throughout the book. A lot like Hammond in the original book. Sarah is a smart and strong woman who does her best to get everybody out alive. Kelly looks up to her and helps them to escape multiple situations. You know Ian, he’s smart and is constantly watching for when things go to hell in a hand basket. He knows it’s inevitable he’s just hoping to get data first. Thorne, along with Eddie, is the guy who created their trailer and bike and cage and all the other equipment they took. It was supposed to be field tested first but Levine went missing and they had to go straight to the island to save him. I do love one of the raptors, those these ones aren’t as organized or smart, one finds a chocolate bar and really likes it. It’s cute. I like the way he does his books but this one I had a harder time getting into. Too slow or maybe too much scientific detail for me. I don’t know. I read it for my son and he is now very happy so... :)
