A+ for this debut novel! I really enjoyed this standalone fantasy novel. Thea, the main character, is a fiercely independent young woman. She is given way more responsibility than any 17 year old should have, but I thought she handled it very well. The pacing in this book is perfect. I never felt bored. I love books that can hit many different places and situations. I can't wait to see more from Samantha Cohoe!
