Batman: Night Cries by Archie Goodwin

3.0

In this bitter tale, Batman does his job and finds the culprit, but also eliminates the only true saviour of innocent children; a role we later see he can't take on as he lacks the natural ability to attune himself to it, unlike the doctor. The grim limitations of his figure are then highlighted, reminding us of who he really is and how set apart from the usual heroes he stands: darkness cloaked in violence with an outlet in crime.
Oh and the art style is gorgeous oh my god.
