An Eye for an Eye by Anthony Trollope

1.0

Let me save you the trouble of slogging through this boring book. Boy wants to marry girl, but his uncle (of whom he is the heir) doesn't want him to because she's Irish, poor, and they know nothing of her father. Boy promises the uncle he won't marry her. Boy promises the girl that he will. The book is him waffling back and forth endlessly while statements and arguments are repeated over and over and over again. It's tedious and boring.

Also, the arrangement he argues for in the end of the book, wasn't that a thing? It's called a left-handed marriage or a morganatic marriage.

Blah. Don't read this. Please don't waste your time.
