Mystery Girl by David Gordon
4.0
This book is an adventure to say the very least.
Sam Korberg is a failing writer who is also losing his bored of him wife, Lola. The deal is: unless he becomes more ambitious in his writing endeavors or gets a completely now job, she’s out.
Feeling lost within himself and too melancholic for confidence, he find himself landing a job as a private investigator. However, there’s only one person he’s set to watch and it’s not long before Sam is curious about her personal lore outside of the sketchy job.
As this new job consumes his life, he spirals into it finding himself in drag and camping out in bushes to get closer to this mystery girl. Everything is constantly shifting, and as soon as you think you know what’s going on the plot switches once again.
I loved this book and believe it to be criminally underrated.
