Breath of Scandal by Sandra Brown

3.0

This book was a roller coaster. It had many ups and downs. The setting in a country town obviously around a time where racism still existed. I did not like the words used in the books and the language to describe people of color was painful to hear but I continued to read the book because Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors. This book was definitely not one of my favorites.

This story centers around a high school woman who was gang raped and her story of revenge. The details were so descriptive it was hard to get through some of the passages in the book. I learned the true meaning of hate and disgust when I was introduced to Neal Patchett, the main character. The character was such a horrible human being.

I think the storyline could have been shorter. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did an amazing job on the accents. Overall it was just ok. I wanted more romance in the novel. The ending wasn't the worst though.
