I may have read this book before but I did not remember any of it. I liked this one about as much as the first one, but I do think the concept of a recording was done a little bit better in this one. One of my main problems with the first one was that there weren’t really any important side characters except for Zia Anubis and Bast, and Zia disappeared at the end of the first book. The concept of the initiates was great because it introduced more characters as well as developing the ones that already existed. The writing was still pretty childish, but I do think it works with the way the story is presented.
