Gwenpool, the Unbelievable, Vol. 1: Believe It by Christopher Hastings

5.0

Yes, this was definitely 1000 times more awesome than I thought it would be!

A girl who loves comics, games, and other stuff, is transported to the world of the characters she reads about. And she is totally planning on making it a trip worth remembering, so she does anything, and everything, and also kicks some serious butt in the process. :P

It was a bit hard to get into, of course I already knew about the character Gwen, who hasn't heard of her? I already saw some of her (mis)-adventures. But most of it is basic stuff though.
So it was a bit strange of a beginning. For instance I still have questions on how she managed to teleport herself to this world, and if she can go back. It also seems that (later on when she meets Strange) she doesn't really want to go back, and also doesn't really mind if memories of people in her real world become fuzzy. I am curious what went on in the real world.

I just loved how she didn't care about consequences, she just went for it, no matter what happened. Which meant she blows up a lot of stuff, tries to kick some serious butt, and does all sorts of crazy stuff that was totally epic. I also can't wait to see her grow, and become more awesome. Maybe learn some more gun skills, as she loves guns, but can't shoot (at least until her training).

I also totally adore her outfit, though I can imagine it might get a bit cold at times. :P Still she picked a great costume, the colours are fun, and fit with her character perfectly.

It was definitely fun to see her break fourth wall so many times, or just break a character because she knew their backstories (or names, in case of a certain Thor).

I had a laugh at the blurb: "Could Gwenpool truly be Marvel's least responsible and least role-modely character to date? She can if she tries!" Guys, please, Gwen just does it without even trying.

The art is really amazing, I just love the designs of the characters, especially Gwen in normal mode is gorgeous. The colours are vibrant and fun.

I can't wait for volume 2 to come out, more crazy stuff please! But also more story. I can always use more story in combination with absolute silliness.
