Earth 2: World's End (2014-2015) Vol. 1 by Mike Johnson, Marguerite Bennett, Daniel H. Wilson, Daniel H. Wilson

1.0

This book was given to me as a gift. Thank God, because I would never have paid $30 for it.

Instead of a review, I would like to criticize DC for 1) making it nearly impossible to read just one series and understand what's going on without having to pick up any crossovers, and 2) labeling this book as Volume 1 when, as I found out when I looked it up, it is actually the sixth volume of Earth 2, whatever Earth 2 even is.

Now that that's out of the way, I will say that I enjoyed reading this. I enjoyed it once I stopped trying to figure anything out and just decided to go with it. The alternate versions of the heroes (gay Green Lantern, black Superman - yes, writers, let's just throw every minority into a blender for a delicious politically correct smoothie) were interesting, even if this book gave little to no background for them. Just to be clear, I don't blame the author for this. I'm sure if this was labeled as Volume 6 instead of Volume 1 it would have made more sense, but what can you do? Anyways, the art was good, if typical, and the story, which was essentially just a big battle, was at least entertaining to read.

Glad I didn't pay for it, but I don't regret reading it. Don't read it, though.
