I found this to be a pretty light read. The plot was pretty simplistic, just a bunch of fighting, and a bit spiderman family love. I really do love these characters, though I found the humor near the end of the comic to  be better than the beginning. I don't think anything from the first comic played heavily into this comic, however, it's been a bit since I read the first. The exposition took some time, and the supposed villain never got a reveal or any identifying information other than what the base looks like I suppose. It'll probably get answered eventually, but, again, left this comic a little less interesting. I enjoyed the whole Miles' dad and Uncle Aaron bonding time. It didn't get super deep, but it was really sweet. Overall, decent read.
