Break of Day by Colette, Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette

3.0

I read Break of Day for two reading challenges I am completing this year. I was interested in reading one of Colette's books as I recently watched a film based on her younger years and I became interested in her writing. Break of Day is a book she wrote in her fifties and it mostly reads as a stream of consciousness. I've read books similar to this and I can never quite get into them. I will say her writing (or at least the translation I read) was beautiful. It will be interesting to read some of her earlier works at some point, to compare to this later work.
