Cleopatra's Sister by Penelope Lively

3.0

These days I read few real [non-genre] novels, but this one intrigued me.  Two people meet and fall in love while taken hostage in a Middle-Eastern country where Cleopatra’s sister once ruled, but the romance, to me, was somewhat anti-climatic; the first part of the book alternated between telling the lives of Howard and Lucy before they met, interspersed with the author’s historical musings and insights.  I would probably enjoy other works by this author.
