The writing was awful (why so many commas, why so many clauses, why were there multiple colons in a sentence?????)
The plot?? She did not know what she wanted, what tropes she wanted.cults, religion, magic, murder mystery, anarchists, drug smuggling, Eddison and Tesla??????
There was also no detail. If she cut half the unnecessary plot points it would have been a much richer, more coherent story
