Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card

3.0

Not a huge fan of the idea that murdering, rapeing, children being impregnated, or giving birth being a death sentence being a part of someone’s culture that should be respected.

Other than that the book was good. Don’t fully understand how the author can have some of the below quotes and believe what he does about the lgbt community.

Speaker for the dead

You loved her yesterday, now you know more and you have changed, but she is the same and you loved her then.

Like a bridge he will come between us, not a wall.

When you really know someone you can’t hate them or maybe it’s just that you can’t know them til you stop hating them.

When you believe something enough to act as though it’s true, when you are that sure you call it knowledge. Facts. We bet our lives on it.
