Such a gripping story of family secrets and the devastation that drug addiction brings to it. Sisters Lexi and Annie couldn’t be more different as they reconnect after Annie, a drug addict begs her sister Lexi, a doctor for help. She’s pregnant and a user. In Alabama, if a pregnant mother tests positive for drugs, her child can be taken away from her. We get a glimpse of the sister’s strict upbringing in a Religious sect, Annie’s addiction and the effect on her baby, and the strained relationship between the sisters. This story had me emotional by the end as secrets of Annie’s addiction unfolds through her journal writings.
