This is a well-done if fairly standard horror story about a monster hunter, Professor Alice Creed. We only get hints of why she is the way she is, with a couple lines about her backstory. A bit more of this would’ve been appreciated, along with how it ties in to the monster of the book.
The ideas are cool, but it feels like we’re just getting the surface here, or rather the summarized version instead of the deep dive this sort of story demands. But despite that it is a tidy story, with nicely rendered art that easily shifts from everyday scenes to ones of monstrous horror and surreal other dimensions.
