Good-Bye, Chunky Rice by Craig Thompson

This mildly touching and funny comic book relates the unique and melancholic story of Chunky Rice, a silent and introverted anthropomorphic turtle who follows his "urge" to escape, leaving his mouse girlfriend "Dandel". Along the way, Chunky meets a bunch of weirdly compelling characters...and... that's pretty much it. The story, paradoxically, goes nowhere, which really is a shame when you think of the extraordinary atmosphere and setting the author created.
