The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell

5.0

This is a big-time short story with a ton of adaptions and movies made off of it. At least, that's what people keep saying, it was never on my radar until I stumbled upon it on Likewise. I'm glad I did, it really is exactly what a short story should be. That is to say, it feels like you're reading a novel when in reality it's under 50 pages. Connell is able to set up the characters, the plot, and the atmosphere in record speed. While making it feel like it's NOT record speed. It's thrilling, it raises questions about the morality of hunting game and what makes life interesting. It has all the things you want from a novel but packed into a quick 30-minute read. I would totally recommend this, I had a lot of fun with it.
