Die Dog or Eat the Hatchet by Adam Howe

4.0

4.5 stars.

Adam Howe has to be the king of novella's.

I don't know whether I should be worried about the authors state of mind as his books are dark and extremely warped but yet so good and I can not get enough of them.

Die Dog or Eat the hatchet is made up of three novellas.

Damn Dirty Apes actually mentions the Road House film in the story and to be fair it did slightly remind me of it apart from it is a bit more scary and has a dark sense of humour about it.

Reggie is a bouncer at The Hen House. Somehow he and some other memorable characters set off in a search for a missing man and we are taken on a somewhat bonkers of a journey by the author.

I really do not know how the author comes up with his stories but you can guarantee you will have never read anything like the stories in his books.

Die Dog or Eat Hatchet is very much a horror story and I have to say it is very gruesome in parts. It would actually make a great horror movie and I was gripped all the way through. It is quite fast paced and I have to say a really brilliant read.

Gator Bait I have actually already read as the author has released this on its own. This is a cracker of a story which I particularly loved with an ending that still actually makes me chuckle now as it is just so perfect. One of the best endings ever to a story.

This authors books probably will not be to everyone's tastes but if you are looking for something very different and totally warped, you are going to love them.

Many thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
