Withering Rose by Kaitlyn Davis

3.5

These are really solid, easily bingable books that are "twisted takes" on fairy tales. I liked this better than book 1, especially as it seemed to develop the love more between this couple vs book 1, but I still think Davis relied a little too much on the Beauty and the Beast trope to convey the falling in love than things on the page.
I'm going to keep going through the series (I can get through the audiobook so fast and it's enjoyable enough) but I'm also not telling any of my friends to read it either. If you're hungry for YA fairy tale retellings, these will hit the spot for you.
