Make Me Stay by Jaci Burton

This was my first Jaci Burton book, and I really enjoyed it! I don't typically read contemporary, but the description grabbed me. I also love when authors put dogs in their books. It adds a playful quality to a book, which I love.
Reid is just in town for a little while, working on a project with his brothers, and though he loves his family, he is fully intending to go back to Boston when everything is completed. Samantha has lived in Hope since she was a child, and she runs the local flower shop now that her grandmother is retired. She and Reid hit it off pretty quickly, but they both know that things can't last. He's leaving, and her home is in Hope, with her ailing grandmother. They begin a casual relationship, with no strings attached sex, both trying to enjoy what they can before Reid leaves. However, they soon find out that it won't be so easy to separate, and Reid must decide where his home really is - in Boston or with Samantha.
Even though I generally like more committed relationships in the books I read, Jaci Burton drew me in with these lovable characters. While they were "no strings attached," they really cared about each other and never strayed. Reid had some really great lines in the book, and while he was such a man at times, he tried to make up for it with charm and kindness. Samantha was sweet, with basically no flaws from what I could see. A flaw or two may have made her character more realistic, but I still liked her! The dog was great - his name became Not My Dog, for hilarious reasons. You'll laugh out loud when you read it!
I am very excited to read the next book in the series, and I may even read the prior books too. Definitely worth a read!
