Blue Of Noon by Georges Bataille, Georges Bataille

Read this with my book club! It really helped to discuss. We're thinking that the girls, Dirty, Lazare, Xenie are potentially metaphors. Dirty being facism/chaos/death (which our Henri is so obsessed with), Lazare being the middle class left with a savior complex, and Xenie being the stable family-oriented ideal. Very interesting book when you dig into the details and I'm glad I had people to talk with while reading. I don't think I would've gotten nearly so much out of the book without my book club.
