The Invention of Morel by Adolfo Bioy Casares

4.0

A nice little novella, ostensibly about the politics of Argentine and a man who has lost his homeland. This is a romantic novel by nature, the language reminded me of The Sorrows of Young Werther. I wonder why no one had recommended this to me earlier. The ending is so well written it is baffling how one can carry a narrative with such stark language and then pack such a powerful and emotional wallop in three succinct paragraphs.
