The Mystery of 31 New Inn by R. Austin Freeman

3.0

An entertaining early mystery featuring a late contemporary of Sherlock Holmes and one of the first fictional forensic scientists. Some things in the book seem so obvious that I have to wonder if they really are or if it's just that we 21st century people just have the benefit of the long tradition of which this book (and the Holmes mysteries, of course) are a part. Still, even though I had a good idea of what was going on I didn't guess most of the specifics. I'll definitely be trying some more of this series.
