Excellent start to what I hope will be a continuing series.
Well... actually the beginning for Nathan Taylor and his family is very rough, but the book and the survivors situation continues to get better throughout the book, with significant obstacles and even battles along the way.
It is by no means the end of the story for the protagonist or his family, friends, citizens of the Jackson Purchase, and fellow citizens of this small region fighting for survival.
