I'm ashamed to say that I've had Across the Universe on my bookshelf for months and months. I thought I would finally start this series and started with As They Slip Away, which is a free short story prequel.
The short story tells of Godspeed, the ship on its way to a better world, and about a few patients in the Hospital, in particular about their skills.
While the short story was a little sad... C'mon it says "Three Months Before I Die" at the start! It was a really good intro to the series and it made me crave the start of Across the Universe.
I love science fiction but I haven't read a lot of young adult scifi, so I'm definitely more than eager to start this series. I'm looking forward to seeing how some of these characters play into the bigger story.
