Fish & Chocolate by Kate Brown

4.0

I first saw Kate Brown's art in [b:Nelson|13016409|Nelson|Rob Davis|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1333356507s/13016409.jpg|18178506], where it really stood out; her art style shows obvious Japanese influences while still being very European.

Fish & Chocolate is a collection of three thematically-linked stories, about fear, dilemma, grief, and being a mother. The artwork is lush and beautifully coloured, although quite graphic in the final story.

I have to say that I didn't get too much out of each of the stories; I'll put that down to my rushing through this book rather than stopping to really soak in what was happening; I hope that when I go back to re-read it I will get a deeper understanding of what was going on.
