The Lovecraft Anthology, Volume 1 by H.P. Lovecraft

4.0

For a guy who envisioned creatures that the human mind can't comprehend - let alone visually depict - Lovecraft translates pretty damn well into comic book form. The two best in this collection happen to be my two favorite Lovecraft stories, the Call of Cthulhu and The Shadow Over Innsmouth. They manage to capture the eerieness of the stories just about perfectly, and manage to depict their respective monsters in a particularly spectacular way.

I would, however, recommend that people read the stories before reading the graphic adaptations, just because Lovecraft should be given to your own imagination before its given to an artist's pen.
