Money by Yuval Noah Harari

informative reflective fast-paced

2.5

A short text collection from the master of oversimplification. Although informative at times, and although it did encourage reflection in me, all in all I heavily disliked this book. Information is presented in a manipulative, emotionally engaging, simplified way, building a narrative of history and the future that goes a very certain way and lacks distance. Also it fails to acknowledge the variety of opinions in science and the dissent there is, making it sound like (almost) every scientist is of one particular opinion. Futuristic predictions are presented in a determinative way. One of the worse examples of pop science. I can't believe Harari is a professor??
