Empress Game: The Empress Game Trilogy Book 1 by Rhonda Mason

hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaha
Okay so this book is pretty stale & stereotypical in all the ways you can imagine, but I'll give credit where it's due & say it got a little better by the end. One of the author blurbs says it's an, "old fashioned space opera"; old fashioned is the best way to describe this book. The only unexpected twist was the fact that the author named a main character "Malkor" & didn't make him evil?!
The romance at the end was 100% unnecessary but whatever. Kayla the MC was actually decent & I enjoyed her POV, but overall I can't bring myself to read any more of this series (because apparently, lords' bless, this is going to be a series).
Pick this up if you want a good laugh! If you want serious sci-fi, stay faaaaaaaaaar away.
