She-Wolf: A Cultural History of Female Werewolves by

I think the breadth and varied specificities of this book is where it let me down. Having read through it, I now know I would be more interested in a similar book by a single author.

I did pick this up hoping for literary (or other media) analysis focusing on gender in werewolf content. And I suppose that's there. But aside from the introduction, many of the essays skipped over or assumed base knowledge and honed in very specific minutiae. Unless you're assigned this for class, pulling for your own research paper, or just interested in a specific one of the essays, I'd give this one a miss.
