The Gigantic Beard That Was Evil by Stephen Collins

3.0

This was a gorgeous graphic novel with a story that many could put their own meaning of a moral. It has universal appeal and touches on many understandings of what it is to be labeled different, the hostility felt towards something or anyone that is deemed strange or weird, and the desire to eradicate rather than to learn about and let people just live their own lives. I first felt like this was similar to the movie The Truman Show with its perfect surface but nefarious underside. It kept me engaged and I am thinking about the ending and don't think there is a truly correct answer to what happened to Dave, but with our own life experiences, any response given is correct.
