This book is short, sweet, charming, and queer. It’s a YA fairy tale romance in a world where being queer is accepted and embraced, but it still explores the complex feelings that come from being marginalized and misunderstood. The plot had enough tension and mystery to hold my attention, but it was balanced with plenty of playful kindness between the characters.
I’m giving it 5 stars for making me feel warmth in my semi-jaded heart, and 3.75 stars for being a bit predictable and leaning too much on familiar tropes for the minor characters.

Minor: Injury/Injury detail, Grief, and Confinement
