The end of this issue is making me desperate for the next one to come out. I hate that I have to wait a full month! Okay, now that I’ve gotten my whining out of the way…
This series is so pretty. At least, the virtual world is pretty. The real world is a bit less so…but the artwork for it is still exceptionally done. The virtual world is where the artwork truly shines through. Our main character and her new allies get to take on their preferred looks, all while surrounded by fantastic monsters, bright backdrops, and even brighter details in the foregrounds. It’s striking.
I’m looking forward to learning more about what is going on here. I have a basic understanding, but I’m dying for more details on the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of it all. The conclusion to this issue was a good way to ensure that we’ll come back for the next one…though it may have been a touch mean.
