666: The Number of the Beast by Peter Abrahams

4.0

I happened to pick this book up in a library one day, and after reading one of the stories checked it out immediately. Some of the stories were well written and some less so, but most had me hooked. My favorite had to be The Legend of Anna Barton by Laurie Faria Stolarz. It had a great base for a plot, and was one of the only stories that actually had me really scared. There was the right balance of suspense and plot development, and the ending was unexpected but not unbelievable. Another excellent story was Empire of Dirt by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. The main character, Sassy, was funny and believable, and the plot was creative and engaging. Overall, the well written stories outweighed the others, and its a book I would definitely recommend to others.
