Hunted by Elizabeth Heiter

4.0

Elizabeth Heiter introduces her suspenseful debut HUNTED, #1 Profiler, a new series and FBI criminal profiler, Evelyn Baine—one tough cookie!

Evelyn Baine is with the BAU (Behavior Analysis Unit) with the FBI and gets called in for an assignment in a small Virginia town. She is not a rookie anymore and she has earned her spot; however, she is the youngest in the group.

She is sent to a small town in Bakersville, Virginia where women are being tortured and raped and buried up to their neck with heads exposed. Being a profiler, she has to deal with the local authorities and their resistance--which is always trying, especially in small towns, when they do not like outsiders.

Evelyn becomes almost obsessed with solving the murders; however, this time, instead of being the hunter, she becomes the hunted.

A gripping debut—I actually read Vanished first #2 Profiler; was so intrigued, purchased the audio to find out more about Evelyn—smart, dedicated and driven. Janina Edwards delivered a suspenseful tension filled performance.

Heiter does an outstanding job with the crime scene, office politics, cop procedures, and delivers fast paced action. The Bakersville Burier was evil personified! What sets the thriller apart is the main protagonist—Evelyn –you will root for her.

Highly recommend Hunted, Vanished and Seized! An author to follow.
