Carousel Sun by Sharon Lee

3.0

Better than the first book. Not much action, and the magic system seems a bit wonky, but still interesting in a quiet way. Characterization has greatly improved from book one. Plus carousels. Kind of disappointed that the rooster was not actually important, especially after all the buildup. A bit anticlimactic. Overall a fun book. Either the writer or editor needs to rethink the overabundance of distracting and pointless ellipses used, but at least the halt-urgent-action-to-note-Maine-landmarks tactic was no longer employed.
