It's a Punderful Life: A Fun Collection of Puns and Wordplay by Gemma Correll

5.0

2020 Re-read. I can use some puns in my life right now and this book by Gemma Correll is perfect for that. She makes the best puns that have you laugh and groan. I love her art and seeing her think up puns that are sometimes very simple, but sometimes (as past-me also said) you need to read the name out loud before you get it.
I wouldn't mind more books with puns by this author. Please give us more. Please!

First up, I want to thank my boyfriend for giving this to me as a Birthday Present, thanks dear! So happy with this one!

I just love puns (even the bad ones, though I will groan and shake my head at them), some people are just really creative with coming up with them. I spotted this book on Goodreads after I read another pun book. I just knew I had to have it. Gemma Correll's art is wonderful, she is one of my favourite artists, and I just had to know what kind of puns she made/drew.

And I can tell you, it didn't disappoint. I laughed so loud while reading this one, at times groaning at some because they are just that obvious. I loved that a lot of objects talked, to give the pun more punch. Like for Pear Pressure: C'mon everyone else is doing it. With a picture of two pears. Or the blunt pencil who is indeed very blunt.
And the list can continue, there are a lot of objects in this book, all playing a role. Some words you have to say aloud to get the pun, but mostly you can just immediately see what is happening.

I could talk about the art, but I think I already made my point when I said that I loved Gemma Correll's art. :)

Would I recommend this book? Heck yes, I would. If you want a laugh, and enjoy some good art, then be sure to check this book out.
