The Beauty, Volume 1 by Jason A. Hurley, Jeremy Haun

3.0

Great premise and opening scenes. I enjoyed the main characters and their platonic relationship between a male and female lead was very refreshing. The villain of this volume was fairly flat and 2-dimensional but with several other characters being well developed and introducing the concept of the virus, maybe a mustache-twirling bad guy is just fine.

I read this a week ago and can't put my finger on why but something about the ending just left a lot to be desired. The "what happens next?!" -iness is strong and kind of off-putting. I might check out future issues but hold off on another full volume.
