Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld
3.0
I kind of wish I’d started reading Scott Westerfeld’s work with a different book of his. I’ve heard such good things about his series. This wasn’t what I’d hoped, but that doesn’t mean it’s not intriguing.
I like the book-within-a-book/narrative-within-a-narrative conceit. I also like books about books and books about storytelling. If that’s your thing, too, definitely check this out.
I went with the audiobook, which is narrated by two voice actors. One I felt was spot on pretty much the whole time. The other I felt was a little off sometimes. Maybe it was their vastly different deliveries.
